Sliabh Liag Distillers is Donegal’s first legal distiller in almost 180 years and are well on their way to reclaiming the rich distilling heritage of the county.

Their award-winning brands which celebrate the folklore, history, scenery, and people of Donegal, are now sold around the world, with the Silkie Irish Whiskeys now available in 48 US states and distribution secured across Canada.

A tour of their new Ardara Distillery and Visitors Centre is recommended. The visitor can see where they distil the award-winning An Dúlamán Irish Maritime Gins, as well as rich, smoky pot still and single malt Irish whiskeys, reminiscent of the smoky whiskeys distilled in Donegal in days gone by.

Heading through the doors of the Distillery you will begin to appreciate an alternative side of Irish whiskey making. It is one that honours the methods of our illicit forefathers and inspired by the almost lost tradition for a smoky style of spirit, brought up to date with the very best distillation know-how.
