Established in 1953 by Bill McNutt, McNutt of Donegal began as a small weaving enterprise in Downings, County Donegal, aiming to provide local employment. Inspired by the fabrics his parents sold in their shop, Bill mastered weaving and trained many locals, fostering a community passion for the craft. Initially operating with handlooms in a converted community hall, the business expanded to a purpose-built mill equipped with power looms, where production continues today. Over the decades, McNutt of Donegal has evolved into a renowned producer of luxury woolen products, seamlessly blending traditional craftsmanship with contemporary design.
